The Ultimate Voice My perception of Oral Roberts I think is still the same way it was before but now I just have a little bit better understanding of Him. In this book I was able to read Oral break down the understanding and wisdom of God so that we can truly understand his word and plans for us. Robert breaks down the laws that God has planted in his word and gives us examples of how we should act character wise, and how we should as a people in Christ living in today’s society. He communicates that God does indeed speak to everyone, although some people are afraid to hear, feel unworthy to hear, choose not to hear, or do not believe that he even exists. In the book Roberts began talking about God being a supreme teacher explaining why God has unlimited ways of speaking to the inner man in us. Robert has simplified the fact that God doesn’t want to be pushed aside or put in the back seat of our lives, God wants us to let him in to let us let him help guide us through this thing we call life because we can’t do this alone but we try so hard to. He wants to show us how to live our lives the right way and all we have to do is let him in. One of the aspects that Roberts was discussing about hearing God’s voice is the differences between concepts and application. He believes that God has a desire to establish relationships with every single one of his children, and assures that He is the source of total supply and reveals who we are and the reason for our existence. God’s words and promises are

the same to people today as they were hundreds of years ago. They are never changing and never ending no matter what all we have to do is be obedient, God is unchanging and the only thing consistent in our lives. Roberts also lets us into his mind by giving us small sections of his journal discussing the words he believes God has spoken to him. Roberts then discusses that the only way to be authentically ourselves is to be like Jesus and pursue what He proposed for us to accomplish in our lives. It is because of this that I know that no matter what is going on in the world God’s word will remain true everyday. I feel like in this world it gets harder and harder to believe in that because the world is throwing so much other stuff in our faces that it gets a little hard for me to actually hear what exactly God is wanting me to do. I am still young and a lot of these things they are throwing out there are geared towards kids my age but I am learning how to be strong against the traps laid out to get me. While I was reading the ultimate voice, it reminded me of fall revival last year when one of our speakers named Reggie Dabbs began talking about Carpe diem, which means seize the day in modern english. He was talking about how God has many ways he can speak to us through. The ultimate voice talked about how we need to listen to the voice of God all the time and to look for signs of Him trying to talk to me through. This book and that message has helped me come to understand that I’m not a very good listener when it comes to God and his plans for me and because of that I have missed out on many of my blessings. I know now that God wants me to go into the Youth Ministry and I believe this is something God has planned for me for a long time. I believe that this is one of the issues we see in today’s churches. We are too caught up in trying to please people and keep our church attendance high so we end up sacrificing the truth of God’s word for the acceptance of the world which is what we shouldn’t be doing. When we do this we dilute the word of God and we lead people astray from Him. The church needs to stop

trying to have the church accept them and start being brutally honest about what God really says. I want to leave a church sermon feeling convicted and wanting to change my bad habits right then and there....
