BA 2196 Section 21/Professor Glenn-Fleming Topic Proposal Temple University is one of the most diverse universities in the countries with a wide spread of students with drastically different backgrounds. According to College Factual, approximately half the students enrolled at Temple University are twenty-two years old and older. This illustrates the age demographic and the need for an on-site day care. The day care would be available to students enrolled with children as well as faculty with children. For the students, it would be an affordable and reputable care option while they attend classes and clubs and the price will be built into the tuition. For faculty, it will be available while they are teaching classes and during office hours and the price will be deducted from the salary. For parents who are not enrolled, it would be an opportunity to receive an education from Temple University. Students will have the opportunity to work at the day care as a work study or internship. For some students, it can be a way to earn additional money for schooling and for students who have a major related, it can count towards experience and/or class credit. Temple University needs an on-site day care because education should accessible to all. Parents should not be afraid to get a degree because they cannot find affordable day care or find trustworthy candidates. This daycare will make sure that all students who are working at it have all their clearances and are properly trained Parents will be able to easily check up on their children by just walking across campus rather than having to drive to another daycare. With the technological advancements, the students can help develop an application on the phones that will allow students to update parents on a child’s day as well as keep a file open for the child’s information. Implementing an on-site daycare will allow for students and faculty with children to have affordable and accessible daycare while attending university and for parents who are not enrolled the opportunity to attend a university....
