Unit 1 Critical Thinking Questions 1. Why do you think it is so important to use proper methods when collecting evidence

from a crime scene? It’s important that forensic scientists use proper methods when collecting evidence from a crime scene because if the evidence is not collected properly then it is not useful in whatever case they are trying to solve.

2. Why do you think forensic science has been increasingly used by the criminal justice

system? Forensic science has been increasingly used by the criminal justice system because as crime rates increase officials have turned to science to help prevent crime and to catch criminals. 3. Which of the forensic scientist’s responsibilities do you think would be the most

challenging? Why? I think Expert Witness would be one of the most challenging forensic scientist’s responsibilities because they are ethically required to tell the unbiased truth regardless of which side benefits.

4. Which of the forensic scientist’s responsibilities do you think would be the most

interesting to you? Why? The forensic scientist’s responsibilities that I think would be the most interesting to me is Forensic psychiatry because I have always been curious about the human’s mental state during and after he committed the crime. Like for example Why did he do it?, What pushed him to finally resort do this?, What was his thought process while he was doing it?, What was his thought process after he did it?.

5. Which of the specialty areas do you think you would most like to work in?

I would most likely want to work as a Forensic Psychiatrist....
