Description

We study differently at our own pace and in our own time so what we need is to get organized then we will find it enjoyable. Taking ownership of learning has three major stages; 1. Assess yourself if you really want to learn when doing that you might ask yourself ‘what do I want to study’. 2. Setting goals that are realistic and attainable 3. Working on reaching your goals and trying all the times to get to deeper understanding of new things we are learning 4. Assessing ourselves if what we are learning is helping in our career, daily life or academic journey. Active and passive learning are different methodologies for acquiring knowledge in the learning process. Active learning involves the student in the learning process and its methodologies are student-centered while passive learning does not involve the student and is mainly teacher-focused. Gene B. (2020) So Active learning involves three things; 1. Reading and asking so many questions to fully understand 2. Writing to remember and memorize 3. And finally discussion The role of the course instructor is just like a guide and students are pursuers of knowledge. So it’s really up to the student to push for gaining knowledge and understanding. It call for a lot of discipline and dedication on the part of a student Peer assessment is of greater importance because it will act as a gauge on the things learnt. Peers assessment is the core ingredient in helping the student fully understand and gain the confidence on the new found knowledge. When students collaborate and engage in discussion they attain some confidence and courage and finally become better workers at places of work.
