Topic 3 Managing Your GCU Experience After you have attended your College Kick-off, answer the following questions. Record your responses to all questions on this document (the boxes will expand should you require more space).

What are the clubs, learning communities or professional organizations specific to your program? How likely are you to join one of these organizations? Which one interests you the most, why? (minimum 100 words)

There was a lot of things going on when I went to the CCOB college kick-off. The two clubs/ learning communities that really caught my attention were the sports management table and the ACE center table. I was really interested in the ACE program because they could help if you lost or need help on an assignment. I will be seeing them a good amount because if get lost and confused very easy with homework. I was told the locations of all the ACE centers and times they are open. For some of the locations they won’t have some of the subjects you are seeking help for but there will be one that will.

Set and share a goal for how you will become involved in a learning community, club, or organization. Discuss how involvement in these types of groups could positively affect you as a student? (minimum 100 words)

One goal I want to set is to visit the ACE center at least two or three times a week depending on my schedule. I feel like if I go to the ACE center, I will be able to get help on good ways to study and even help on my work. I can be shown certain ways on how to do things in a more understanding way. I feel like if I go the ACE center I can better myself as a student and possible be a part of ACE in my future here at GCU. I know going to ACE two to three time a week will benefit me as a student.

What do you need to achieve academically to be successful in the future? Are there any GPA requirements, volunteer hours, or internships associated with your future career

I will need to push myself to the fullest to make it so I can do well academically and pass my classes. I know for a lot of majors and courses that there are some GPA requirements and some volunteer hours and possible some internships that might be associated with what you are pushing towards as a career. If you set a goal for yourself and push yourself to that goal or maybe even past that goal you will be able to succeed with ease. If you are falling behind visit and use all the resources that are available to you. For example, ACE
