Reflection: In 50-100 words, summarize your daily and weekly food expenses. Were there any surprises in your meal spending habits?

As I reflect on my meal choices, I realized that I need to not be spending as much as I have. For me it is hard not spend money on things I don't need such as coffee or fast food every day. From now on I will be trying to focus on eating both healthy and cheap. I might even go shopping at the Grid and stock up on food at the beginning of the week.

Exercise 2 – Calculating meal plan budget. Assume you are living on campus for at least 16 weeks. How much money per day should you budget for meals? This includes snacks and beverages. 1. Calculate the average for your daily food expenses. a. Add daily total for Monday through Sunday. b. Divide the total by seven to determine the daily food expense average. c. Divide the meal plan total by 112 days to determine how much per day can be allocated for meals. You are on the right track to having enough food for the entire semester. How would you mentor a classmate who is challenged with managing their spending? (50-100 words) If a fellow classmate was struggling with finding the right amount of money to spend for food, I would start by looking at their spending history and weed out the nonessentials. From there I would help by finding out when they feel they eat the most and adjust the budget to cater that. From there I would give them a set budget for their food. I would include a little wiggle room just in case they get the mid night munchies out of the blue.
