Do you believe the statement "perception is reality"? Why or why not? I do believe the statement “perception is reality,” but do not agree with is. Unfortunately, people cannot see your intention nor see your true self behind closed doors. People create judgment by what they can see and hear. Hence why your parent always told you that first impressions are important. For example, if I were in the mall with my niece and she was crying hysterically, many people perception of me will be that I am an unfit parent or that I have caused her harm. This judgment is formed only by what they are able to see, but little do they know that she is my niece and is crying because her phone battery died. I always try not to give people the benefit of the doubt and not “judge a book by its cover” because not everything is what it seems. Many of my close friends have told me that they never would have thought that I was the way I am (cool and friendly) because I sometime have a “face” which they felt intimidated by, but once they actually had a conversation with me their perspective of me changed....
