Have you read the course outline description? Have you looked at the task 1 rubric? Have you organised and discussed the task with the tutor? Have you started to research and evaluate other resources in your teaching area? Have you decided upon the ICT medium you will use?

Direct instruction -

What we do as a teacher It is how we organise and manage our lesson. Giving directions about you taking control and instructing what they will be doing in the lesson etc You will move in and out of direct instruction throughout the lesson

Teach live TeachLive is a virtual reality teaching tool providing UON Education students with teaching experiences in a simulated environment. TeachLivE is a partnership with Murdoch University in Perth that enables students to practice teaching in front of a virtual reality space of selected student avatars. Students teach mini-lessons to a live performing actor who role plays the lesson response through the avatar’s developmentally appropriate behaviours. TeachLivE lessons allow pre-prac teaching experiences and provides wonderful learning about teaching inside the safety net of a simulator, just as pilots use these tools in flight school and health professionals undertake in virtual training.

Evolution of resource-based teaching • Resources can be a vast array of tools we can use to assist our teaching. • A resource can include access to electronics and/or physical objects.

• The dynamic concept of resources for teaching is vast. Aresource can include people, places of interest or ideas. A resource is essentially something that will be utilised to support teaching and learning. • Refer to our reading by Hill & Hannafin (2001) to further your knowledge about resource-based teaching and learning.

-

Teaching in the past and using strategies and tools Resources can be work sheet or computer Google classroom, email etc. The way we use resources is forever changing

Moving from the past, to present and toward the future: • The historical use of resources when teaching was very much about teaching a specific topic with a single, simple and effective resource. • We are currently in a state of flux and flow while teaching students who can easily multi-task and use multiple devices at once. • How do we respond to this rapid technological progression? • What decisions will you make as a future teacher to engage your students to be inspired to learn through the use of ICT? -

Looking at resources that are significant, useful, relevant. Using as updated resources and keep up to date with them Embrace technology

Implications of technology as a resource Resources and the impact of classroom use: • Internet infrastructure, access and monitoring. • Student Sentral – https://www.sentral.com.au/ • Google classrooms - https://edu.google.com/intl/en_au/ • Edmodo -https://new.edmodo.com
