Description

As a Project Consultant, you will be part of a team of typically 6-7 members, including two Team Leaders that jointly lead the team. Teams are assigned a non-profit organisation, and are responsible for helping the organisation solve business issues ranging from marketing to funding, to improve their efficiency and increase their social impact. Consultants will be required to work both independently and with their team members to find solutions for the client. Key Characteristics Our Consultants should have: - Genuine interest in not-for-profit organisations and social entrepreneurship - Genuine interest in consulting - A professional manner and sound work ethic - Proven excellence in communication, organisational and teamwork skills - Ability to critically evaluate problems to find potential solutions - Time to dedicate to 180 Degrees Consulting (4-6 hours per week) - Status as a currently enrolled student at Monash University (cannot be on intermission) Key Tasks Our Consultants are expected to: - Attend all 180DC events and training sessions - Attend weekly team meetings and contribute to discussions - Complete weekly tasks that are assigned by the Team Leaders to meet the expectations of the client - Take part in deconstructing the problem the client is facing, research necessary information, form solutions and present their findings to the client - Meet with the client and industry mentor on a few occasions - Actively contribute to producing one or more deliverables such as consulting reports and/or presentations for the client

The key role of a Team Leader is to oversee and manage the consulting process of an assigned consulting team. Teams are assigned a non-profit organisation, and are responsible for helping the organisation solve business issues ranging from marketing to funding, to improve their efficiency and increase their social impact. Consultants will be required to work both independently and with their team members to find solutions for the client. Each team has two Team Leaders, supporting each other in leading and managing their team to create a stronger team structure. Team Leaders also share the role of managing relations with the client and providing updates to the Executive Team. Team Leaders are given autonomy in determining appropriate delegation of tasks, facilitating communication amongst their team, and assembling the work of their team into the requested deliverables. Team Leaders are expected to lead the strategic direction of the project and be deeply involved in the consulting process of their team. Key Characteristics Our Team Leaders should have: - Genuine interest in not-for-profit organisations and social entrepreneurship - Genuine interest in consulting - Previous leadership and/or consulting experience - A professional manner and sound work ethic - Proven excellence in communication, organisational and teamwork skills - Ability to critically evaluate problems to find potential solutions - Time to dedicate to 180 Degrees Consulting (4-6 hours per week) - Status as a currently enrolled student at Monash University (cannot be on intermission) Key Tasks Our Team Leaders are expected to: - Conduct preliminary research to obtain sufficient understanding of the project - Communicate to team members a cohesive plan for the semester - Oversee the consulting process for their team - Manage meetings and motivate team members - Ensure all deliverables are completed as scheduled - Quality control and compile deliverables, typically in the form of a final report and team presentation to the client - Attend all 180DC events and training sessions
