I.

Workspace Preparation (LabSim 2.0)[ CITATION Tes203 \l 1033 ]

Power Hazards: Risk of damage to equipment, electric shock, electric burns and death. To prevent these risks, ensure equipment is powered off and removed from source of electricity. Physical: Ensure pathways are free of clutter, debris, boxes, cables, equipment and other objects that could pose a tripping hazard. Food and drink should never be consumed in the work area. Utilize safety goggles and other appropriate personal protection equipment. Cleanliness: Use a specialize vacuum to remove dust that can cause build up on equipment and surfaces. Lifting: Lift heavy objects by bending at the knees. Seek assistance to prevent injury with heavy loads. Fire: Ensure a Class C fire extinguisher is available for use in the event of a fire. Should an incident occur, the main priority is to evacuate all personnel. ESD: ESD can destroy equipment. Utilize grounding straps, antistatic mats and static shielding bags when working with fragile components. Never touch the metal connectors on a circuit board. Hazardous Waste Disposal: Consult the manufacturer documentation for proper disposal of chemicals, toners, ink, batteries and equipment. Consult an MSDS for information on physical data, toxicity, health effects, first aid, storage, disposal, and spill procedures for disposal of hazardous chemicals.[ CITATION Vel19 \l 1033 ]

After taking precautionary measures to ensure safety, reviewing the manufacturer documentation and selecting the appropriate motherboard, install it on to the case with the provided screws. Connect the cable labeled PWRSW to the motherboard (port 13: PWRSW) Connect the cable labeled PLED to the motherboard (port 13: PLED bottom) Connect the cable labeled SPEAKER to the motherboard (port 13: SPEAKER) Connect the cable labeled HDD LED to the motherboard (port 13: HDD LED) Connect the front fan connector to the motherboard (port 4 bottom) Connect the rear fan connector to the motherboard (port 4 top) Connect the USB 2.0 connector to the motherboard (port 14) Connect the USB 3.0 connector to the motherboard (port 9) Connect the audio connector to the motherboard (port 18) Connect the main motherboard power 24 pin connector to the motherboard (port 2 right) Connect the CPU power 8-pin to the motherboard (port 2 top)

III.

Installing Power Supply (LabSim 3.2)[ CITATION Tes20 \l 1033 ]

After taking all precautionary measures your setup should include a computer, a monitor, a mouse and a surge protector.

Connect a 15-pin SATA power connector to the power port on each of the 3 hard drives. Ensure it is securely installed. Do NOT force it to fit

Connect a 15-pin SATA power connector to the power port on the optical drive. Ensure it is securely installed. Do NOT force it to fit.

Connect the power connector to the Power supply. Turn the power supply on (see green arrow) Ensure the pieces are aligned correctly

Ensure the power strip is ON (designated by a green light) and the AC power connecter is securely installed

Place the power supply in the case, neatly place all cords in the case. Ensure cords are not tight or in the way of the side panel being put on. Secure the side panel back onto the case. Turn on the computer and boot into Windows.

IV.

Installing CPU (LabSim 3.5)[ CITATION Tes201 \l 1033 ]

After taking precautionary measures and selecting an appropriate CPU, remove the component from the packaging. Install it into the slot. Ensure it is fully inserted and does not slide out. Install the heat sink (thermal grease or thermal pad) and then the fan on top of the CPU. Screw the fan down with the screws provided. Connect the power for the fan to the motherboard located at the top.

V.

Installing RAM (LabSim 3.7/3.8)[ CITATION Tes202 \l 1033 ][ CITATION Tes \l 1033 ]

Select the appropriate memory module, align the cut outs with the slots. Push the card into the slot ensuring that it is fully inserted and the clips have locked it in. NEVER force a card into a slot, if it doesn’t insert with gentle pressure try turning it around or verifying that you are using the correct card for the motherboard.
