Objective: Design and Implementation of 3-8-line Decoder. Design and Implementation of Encoder 8-3-line Encoder.

Equipment: Decoder IC (74138). Logic gates. Connecting Wire.

Procedure: We used Multisim to create the circuit . The circuit is made out of 3simple switches connected to a 74138ic  Connect vcc and and ground to ic  Digital probes were placed on each of wires connecting the ic to the switches  Take note of the input and output values and output value connect to the probe bulb that show the result

A First we have to open multisim software Take NOT,AND,OR GATE(7486) in multisim Apply voltage vcc ground GND to IC Use an LED PROBE to display output. Use DIGITAL INTERACTIVE CONSTANT to give input to IC Connect the digital interavtice constant to IC for input data  Take note of the input and output values of Boolean expression of k-map and verify with truth table

     

Task : 01 Generate truth table of 3*8 Line Decoder. Verify Results with Truth table or function table. Also implement it using 74138 IC. Truth table:-

Task : 02 Generate truth table or function table from data sheet of 4x2 and 8x3 Priority Encoder. Verify Results with Truth table or function table. Implement in Proteus using Logic Gates (4x2) (Make K maps) Also implement it using 74148 IC (8x3)

Conclusion: In this lab we were able to learn about 3-8-line decoder and 8-3-line encoder. After learning we were able to implement and design 3-8-line decoder and 8-3-line encoder continued to that we were able to perform lab tasks from these learnings...
