Advantages and Disadvantages of Utilizing Adobe Creative Cloud Libraries to Organize Assets According to Smith (2016), Adobe Creative Cloud Libraries provide designers with a quick and efficient way of finding and accessing assets which significantly speeds up production time. These assets act as symbols or dynamic objects and once drag & dropped in a document, they remain linked to the library. Any update of the asset in the library will automatically update all the occurrences of it. For client A, it is imperative to create an auto parts folder to save logos, images, fonts and so on. By using Adobe CC libraries, the designer or the designing team can drag in assets such as logos, graphics and images into the panel or by clicking on the plus symbol bottom left of the CC Libraries panel. Also, they can add in bodies of text. paragraph styles, text style, and color swatches. It would be beneficial to create a CC Library for client A because this will significantly speed up productivity by cutting out the time spent searching for those assets in a computer. The elements to be housed are such as text styles, colors, images, and more in several mobile and Creative Cloud desktop apps, which can be easily accessed from other desktop and mobile apps. For client B, a CC library is also important to save the overall format (logos, typeface) of the newspaper while for client C there is no need for creating a CC library since it is a one-time gig. Another advantage for saving design components for client A and B is that CC libraries support any kind of components: from the simplest ones to the most complex (banner templates). One noteworthy disadvantage is that the updates do not always bring about wanted changes (Capterra, 2019). Another downside is that shortcuts are different across the programs. It would be more convenient if universal shortcuts were the same across all Adobe programs. References
