Uterine Fibroids: Benign fibrous tumor of the uterus made up of muscle cells and other tissues that grow within the wall of the uterus. Most common benign tumors in women of childbearing age; also called uterine leiomyoma 9. Laparoscopy: Visual examination of the abdominal cavity. A flexible, lighted instrument, which is called laparoscope, is inserted through a periumbilical incision to examine the ovaries and fallopian tubes 10. Ortho Evra: Birth control patch. This is the first transdermal birth control patch that continuously delivers two hormones progestin and estrogen to help prevent pregnancy, 95% effective rate 11. WNL: medical abbreviation that means within normal limits 12. FSH: (Follicle-Stimulating Hormone) Helps control the menstrual cycle and stimulates the growth of eggs in the ovaries.
