INSTRUCTION AND MAINTENANCE MANUAL

MANUAL LOADER CDA - 9 INSTRUCTION AND MAINTENANCE MANUAL 90036MBG (07-07-97) Language: English

Infringement or reproduction of this manual without the written permission of Ventomatic S.p.A. is forbidden. This manual must be carefully retained troughout the life of the machine. The client must make sure that the operators know exactly the subject of this manual, and that they carefully follow the instructions contained herein since Ventomatic S.p.A. shall not be responsible for damages caused to persons and/or things or suffered by the machine itself in case the conditions described below are not complied with. This manual is structured as described in the summary; moreover, in order to make easier the search for its elements and to establish a common technical terminology, has been added a numerical and an alphabetical index of references, showing the pages they appear on. Furthermore on the left side of the pages will be specified the addressee of the subject explained; this information aim to help the user during his search for information, but it doesn’t means that the user himself isn’t required to know the other subjects as well. 100375BG

2 ADDRESSEES OF THIS DOCUMENT This document is addressed to different operators: -salesmen -manoeuverers -transporter -installers -maintenence staff -repairs staff -demolishers The above mentioned persons’ experience and culture are different. Culture and operator’s specific experience are the most important requirements granting safety for the operators and for the machines. The customer must make sure that the operator has the ability and the training experience necessary to carry on that particular job. The following document doesn’t provide all the essential information necessary to deal with any function of the machine, because it is assumed that every operator has already the basic knowledge concerning his job. The general safety prescriptions of the following document are addressed to the user, that is the operator with less specific experience. Several of the general safety prescriptions supplied might be hardly followed in some particular situations (e.g. start-up, particular maintenance operations, test running, breakdowns or bad functioning, etc..). In these situations the operator is allowed to behave in a different way , but only if: he knows exactly what he is doing he has the adequate ability and training experience he doesn’t behave in a dangerous way on purpose.

7 CHARACTERISTICS OF MANUAL LOADER CDA-9 The CDA - 9 bag loader consists of a belt system carrying full bags from the filling line to the vehicle preventing the operator from carrying the bags for long ways. The operator can arrange the belts in the most convenient and suitable way thanks to the application and operational features. The horizontal belt can be approached to the loading area although the vehicle might be equipped

with canvas and with corresponding centering. The structure of the machine consists of four basic elements : inclinable belt 02, horizontal belt 03, vertical frame 01 and hydraulic central unit 24. The inclinable belt 02 has its upper end hinged by a flexible joint 13, whereas its lower side is set in the vertical frame 01. When the vertical frame moves upwards or downwards, the inclinable belt 02 inclination changes and the flexible joint

13 must be free to move longitudinally. This is the reason why the flexible joint 13 is set on proper guides. The inclinable belt 02 movement is driven by the inclinable belt gear reducer 11 placed on its upper side. Nearby the latter the rear tightener 17 can be found. A chute 10 can be found on the lower side of the belt, fixed at the vertical frame 01 through which the bags are conveyed on the horizontal belt 03 . A serie of antiskid rollers 21 granting the centering process supports the belt.

100376AG

8 The horizontal belt 03 runs alongside proper wheels 32 in the lower side of the vertical frame 01; it can move longitudinally in order to reach the loading or the collecting area. The translatory movement of the belt is obtained by the translation gear motor 06 which moves the pinion 05 by a chain. The pinion itself drives the rack 07 integral with the horizontal belt 03 frame. In the extreme points of the frame of the horizontal belt 03 two cams can be

found moving the backward limit switch 18 and the forward limit switch 19, delimiting the run of the belt longitudinally. Should the limit switches be overtaken or not intercepted, the belt will go in over stroke but only for few centimetres; as the rack 07 doesn’t have teeth in its most external sides. That is the machine might be in over stroke mode with its motor running whereas the pinion doesn’t but.

The horizontal belt is set on its own guides by proper mechanic locks. An exit pallet 08 can be found on the front end of the horizontal belt 03 helping the operator to pick up the bags; the handwheel 09 allows to regulate the inclination of the belt . The horizontal belt 03 can be equipped with a swinging chute 28 assembled on the the fixed exit pallet 08. This swinging chute 28 (OPTIONAL) can be moved of 30° in both senses allowing the

100376AG

9 operator to pick up the bags easily. The motordrum 12, which can be found on the front side, moves the horizontal belt 03 By using the longitudinal tightener 16 the belt can be tightened. The vertical frame 01 is held inside bearing structure provided with proper brackets 31 allowing the installation of the frame on proper traverses 34 fixed on the factory slab. Depending on the circumstances the traverses can be supported either by reinforced concrete or by metal structural supports. The bearing structure 30 supports either the vertical frame 01 sliding guide or the hydraulic cylinder 04. The hydraulic cylinder stem is set on the lower end of the vertical frame 01. The simple effect hydraulic cylinder 04 has, on its there and back tube , a safety lock preventing the frame from accidental descent.
