Bristol Hospice attracts $1bn+ bids, TA Associates to make 4.5x on Mitratech, Thoma Bravo acquires Applitools On the healthcare front, a mid-single-digit number of private equity firms will advance to enter the second round of sale process forWebster Equity Partners’ Bristol Hospice. In tech news, TA Associates is poised to make 4.5x its money on the sale of legal and compliance software provider, Mitratech, to Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan. Also today, Thoma Bravo announced a growth investment in VC-backed software testing provider Applitools. According to a previous report by PE Hub, Applitools was thought to be too small to make a new PE platform, but Thoma Bravo proved that belief wrong. Corporations vs PE: Veritas Capital and the PE arm of Elliott Management agreed to pay $70 a share last month for defense-and transit-technology company Cubic. But last week Singapore Technologies Engineering made an unsolicited bid of $76. Since then, the private equity duo raised its bid to $72 a share, and ST Engineering responded by boosting its offer to $78, WSJ reports.
