E-MAIL ETIQUETTE Communicating via email in a professional and mature manner is an important skill for Business students to develop as they undertake summer employment opportunities in the business community and for when they graduate and obtain career oriented full-time employment. With this in mind and to help students to prepare for their future business careers it is the expectation of the instructor that all email correspondence will be formatted in a manner appropriate for business communications. This expectation includes descriptive information in the Subject line, an appropriate salutation, full sentences and a signature line. The instructor will not respond to emails which do not include an appropriate salutation (i.e. start with "Hey", or do not include a salutation, etc.), or which include typographical errors or incomplete sentences. Please refer to the next page for additional details. ACADEMIC INTEGRITY
The University takes a very serious view of such offences as plagiarism, cheating, and impersonation. Penalties for dealing with such offences will be strictly enforced. The instructor reserves the right to assign a final grade of F for these types of infractions. The following web site contains a complete policy statement on academic dishonesty and attendance. Students are encouraged to read the Disciplinary Regulation on Academic Dishonest and other policies, students are held accountable for. http://www.algomau.ca/academics/registrar/policies/ Policies can also be reviewed in Chapter 3 of the Algoma University’s Academic Calendar. WITHDRAWAL DEADLINE Please refer to the Algoma University Academic Calendar for the last date to honourably withdraw from this course. Students who withdraw before the deadline will have a “W” (withdrawal) recorded on their Academic Transcript. After the Withdrawal Deadline instructors must assign a grade even if you stop coming to 3
