Description

Compare Snowball and Napoleon as Leaders Introduction George Orwell's satirical allegorical novel Animal Farm was originally released in England, August 17, 1945. It tells the story of a herd of animals living in a farm residing in England and rather pertains to Mr. Jones. Through years of exploitation, arduous labor, and food shortages, the animals living in the farm decided to act or spark a revolution. Everything began whenever the dairy farm’s oldest pig, the Old Major, would have a dream of a revolt against the farmer. The oldest pig expired three nights later; however, the vision of the oldest pig encouraged intelligent animals of the farm, who were known as the smart. In this insurrection, primary pig commanders are present. Snowball is one of them, and Napoleon is another. In this essay, I shall make a comparison between Snowball and Napoleon. The advantages to doing so are that every contrast or comparison explains, clarifies, and highlights the excellence of one thing over the other. Snowball, in my opinion, is a greater leader as compared to Napoleon. Napoleon or Snowball are comparable in that sense that they are both having leadership ambitions, but they are also quite different (Orwell). Napoleon Napoleon is a forceful, overbearing pig that always gets his way. He is easily swayed and constantly prioritizes himself. He feels that he is the destined leader of Animal Farm and extols himself for everything that he has accomplished for both the animals. Napoleon is indeed an example of a much more autocratic leader. He is more power-hungry and corrupt. He is unconcerned about the well-being of the animals. He is both silent and menacing. He employs his dogs to maintain the animals in order and so leads via terror. He is not engaged

in any of Snowball's organizations, or any other initiatives aimed at improving the welfare of animals (Arini). Snowball Snowball, on the other hand, believes in the pleasure of his people. He would constantly prioritize the farm and endeavor to meet everyone's requirements. For instance, before being chased away, he made schematics of the windmill which would assist the animals in working less. The farm would have been in better shape if Snowball had never been chased off, as it is at the end of the novel. Snowball is not without corruption, but he appears to be a preferable option to Napoleon's dishonesty. Snowball, in the most aspect, adheres to the ideals Old Major established for Animalism. With his windmill concept, he seeks to better the lives of the animals. He also formed committees to assist in the inclusion of the less fortunate animals in the community. Although he appears to be the appropriate leader of Animal Farm, Orwell's lesson that Power Corrupts or Ultimate Power Corrupts applies to him as well. This implies that regardless of who led Animal Farm, the rebellion was bound to fail from the start (Phothisuwan, 238-253). Similarities Between Napoleon and Snowball Snowball or Napoleon is comparable so both pigs are engaged in promoting the Animalism doctrine. For example, they both aspire to leadership as they accept responsibility for the upcoming insurrection. As evidenced by their studies on animalism development, those processes also demonstrate their intelligence. They feel that humans are the issue, thus they strive to plan and carry out everything that happens in Animal Farm. They both were looking for a revolution (Chelihi et al, 674-683). Napoleon and Snowball Distinctions

The first distinction between Snowball or Napoleon is their mentality. Napoleon is significantly more forceful, doesn't say much, and is recognized for assuming responsibility for his actions. Snowball, on the other side, is regarded for being an excellent conservationist who was more animated as compared to Napoleon. Snowball, despite Napoleon, is also popular and convincing. Napoleon shows partiality, as well as his primary concern, is not the well-being of all animals. Nonetheless, whereas Snowball is focused on constructing the farm, Napoleon is primarily concerned with solidifying his authority over the land. Napoleon, for instance, may wield power over others. He initially gains the animals' confidence to become their leader and then devises plans to physically govern them (Eke and Ikechukwu). The second contrast between Snowball and Napoleon is their approach to leadership. They seemed to have opposing opinions on how well the farm must be operated. Snowball forecasts something like Old Major's initial goal, but Napoleon anticipates something more like a dictatorship. Napoleon demonstrates this throughout the story as he becomes greedier and more unscrupulous. In contrast, when he initially removes Jessie as well as Bluebell's small puppies with them, he declares that he will oversee their training. He had the dogs surreptitiously trained to be guard dogs. After driving Snowball off the farm with the dogs he trained, Napoleon exploits him as a scapegoat (Nur and Arafah, 91-96). Conclusion George Orwell's satire allegorical novel Animal Farm was originally published in England. The story describes a herd of farm animals revolting against their human owner in the hopes of establishing a society where the animals are equally equal, self-sufficient, and joyous. In this insurrection, there are two primary pig leaders. One of them would be Snowball, while the other is Napoleon (Orwell). The advantages of assessment are that every

contrast or comparison serves to clarify, illustrate, and highlight the superiority of one thing over another. Overall, they both have differences and similarities of thought, they appear distinct owing to the tone of their characteristics Snowball, on either hand, would never have been a dictator like Napoleon. We'll never understand if Snowball grew up to become as evil as Napoleon, rather he's perfectly fit for Animal Farm. Snowball was a far superior leader over Napoleon. The justifications for this are because he taught the animals, planned, as well as understood how to maintain a fair and intelligent community. Snowball was a stronger leader overall than Napoleon. He seemed to have the ability to keep the Rebellion rolling. Snowball exhibited many of the characteristics of an excellent leader. He was an excellent communicator and researcher, was fair, and provided useful feedback.
