Traumatised: young florist, Viktoria Kowalczyk.

Emotive language.

A young florist has been left shaken after a violent heist at her shop last Friday. Armed robbers burst into ‘Flowers for You’ on Bridge Street on Friday afternoon, senselessly smashing vases and flowers.

Includes personal detail.

The hoodlums then demanded that Viktoria Kowalczyk, 26, hand over thousands in cash from the till – or risk getting beaten to a pulp with baseball bats. Viktoria, who was shaken and clutching the hand of her pretty young wife when

she appeared at a news conference yesterday, told how she feared for her life during the attack. ‘I was absolutely terrified,’ she sobbed. ‘They burst through the door just as I was cashing up for the day. They were wearing motorbike helmets and had baseball bats. ‘They demanded the cash from the till and I just gave it to them. I thought they would hit me if I refused.’ Cops are following a number of leads on the gang, who fled the scene on black motorbikes

after stashing the cash in a black duffel bag. Both men are thought to be white, in their twenties, six-foot-tall, and have south-east accents. Inspector Ron Matthews said, ‘This is a terrible robbery which has left the victim extremely traumatised. There is no place for this kind of brutal crime in New Town. ‘Someone must know who these people are. We would urge anyone with any information to call the station on 01234 567891.’

Paragraphs short and snappy – usually no more than two sentences long.
