It goes on to explain with the increase in technology, smartphones, and other mobile devices that providers have new means to communicate and deliver care. Consumers also have new ways to access health information. Along with the pros to technology in healthcare the challenges are there as well. Some of these include, data overload, security and privacy concerns, technology literacy skills, and health literacy skills. The article discusses the challenges of navigating this new landscape.

Telehealth can increase the older adults safety and well being by remotely assessing patients especially during the COVID 19 pandemic. Substance abuse is increasing in older adults during the pandemic due to barriers associated with in person visits, telehealth can help to reduce this.

It explores the different diseases PCR testing can be used for. The book goes into detail about microbial typing by machine learned DNA meet signatures.
