Faith Repentance Baptism Holy Ghost Ordinance Covenant Principle Gospel Gift of the Holy Ghost Power of the Holy Ghost

Paige Woolstenhulme Brother Williams FDREL 100 17 October 2013 What is Faith, Repentance, Baptism, and The Holy Ghost? Faith ● ● ●

Faith is "to hope for things which are not seen, but which are true". To have faith in something you must have confidence in it. I learned that faith is not just the belief that something will happen simply because you believe in it. It is living in your faith fully, through your actions. - True to the Faith, pg. 54-56. Where did the idea of Faith come from? It seems like such a vague idea to come up with. It's a beautiful idea, just very hard to grasp ahold of.

Repentance ● Repentance is not only the washing away of sins, but a fresh new perspective on everything. Repentance also is not just optional for salvation. It is required being as we all have sinned at one point or another. ● I learned that putting off repentance is counseled against. As Amulek said: “This life is the time for men to prepare to meet God; yea, behold the day of this life is the day for men to perform their labors. . . . I beseech of you that ye do not procrastinate the day of your repentance until the end; for after this day of life, which is given us to prepare for eternity, behold, if we do not improve our time while in this life, then cometh the night of darkness wherein there can be no labor performed” (Alma 34:32–33).- True to the Faith, pg. 134. ● Why do sins even exist for us to repent of? Baptism ● Baptism is the remission of sins by immersion of water. ● I learned why we are called Mormons. - The Book of Mormon tells of a group of people who learned the gospel and were baptized at a place called Mormon. From the time of their baptism, they regarded Mormon as a place of beauty because while they were there, they “came to the knowledge of their Redeemer”. - True to the Faith, pg.. 21. ● Why is baptism supposed to be full bodied, instead of just the head like in the Catholic church? The Holy Ghost ● The Holy Ghost is the third personage in the Godhead. He is more of a messenger than anything, serving multiple purposes. ● The Holy Ghost is a gift that you must be blessed with and accept time and time again. "Full enjoyment of the gift of the Holy Ghost includes receiving revelation and comfort, serving and blessing others through spiritual gifts, and being sanctified from sin and made fit for exaltation in the celestial kingdom. These blessings depend on your worthiness; they come a little at a time as

you are ready for them." - True to the Faith pg. 84. Would the Holy Ghost ever communicate with you through dreams?...
