1. Provide a link to the news story and write a short (2- to 3-sentence) summary of each side's position. Link: https://www.cnn.com/2014/07/24/world/iraq-violence/index.htm This article is about the explosion that is said to have destroyed Jonah’s tomb on July 25 th, 2014. This tomb was a key artifact of the Christian, Islamic, and Judaism religions. Jonah was known as a prophet to these religions and as the tradition says he was swallowed by a whale. It was later believed that his body was later revealed on shore and was buried in a Sunni Mosque called the Mosque of the Prophet Yunis. ISIS was the group of people to cause the explosion within the Mosque of the Prophet Yunis. During this time ISIS was trying to take over several cities in Iraq and create war against the government. ISIS believes that any shrine pertaining to the Islamic, Jewish, and Christian religions to be very powerful and ISIS did not like that.

I believe that this tomb was something they could connect with and caused no harm to anyone, so I don’t think they understood the destroying of the tomb. On the other hand, ISIS, thought completely different. The tomb represented something they didn’t agree with, so they wanted it gone and wanted to take over the land it sat upon....
