Contraindications/Precautions pregnancy risk category B -use cautiously in clients who hyperthyroidism, angina, history of myocardial infarction, hypertension and diabetes.
Nursing Interventions continuous cardiac monitoring -report changes of vital signs to provider
Interactions thiazide diuretics and loop diuretics can lead to hypokalemia, increasing risk for dysrhythmias -tricyclic antidepressants will prolong and intensify effects of epinephrine -general anesthetics can cause heart to become hypersensitive leading to effects of dysrhythmias.
Client Education Evaluation of Medication Effectiveness effectiveness is evidenced by: control of heart failure & absence of cardiac dysrhythmias.
