Description

For my updated organizational chart, I rearranged all of the employees to where equals were lateral to one another (such as the data analysts). This is because, in the textbook, it says that communication between coworkers is lateral and communication between manager and subordinates is downwards. In the original organizational structure, it was difficult for me to tell how the structure was set up because it was just a manager with employees below, but it looked as if the flow of the employees was that there was one manager and many employees, so I also split up the managers to where there was only one team per manager. I believe that this will benefit the company because the manager’s will not have too many people underneath them and they will be able to keep a better line of communication because of this. It is easier to communicate with 10 people compared to 15 or 20 people. This will impact the companies’ communication because it will allow for each branch of management to communicate with a smaller group of individuals instead of a larger group. At the same time this may be ineffective because the message may become lost or may not be the same as it passes through each branch. This will allow the team’s communication to be more in depth and to be more focused in reporting. Since there will be a set of teams per project, there will be a better chance that the communication will be communicated quicker and that that information can make it up the line at an increased rate....
