INTRODUCTION The pertinent negative is a procedure or concept to use pertinent negatives to narrow down choices to formulate a diagnosis or answer. It’s basically the power of noticing, what’s not seen. This procedure is especially important when there is an expectation of behavior. When someone is going to do a certain thing, and they don’t, you need to it did not happen. If something is missing or some action was not taken, could be as much of a clue as the obvious we do notice (Herman. A 2016).

What Are The Benefits Of Pertinent Negative In Human Interaction? Presenting one’s own set of pertinent negatives could help you set up quicker for success, by driving into the root of the problem by eliminating things that don’t matter. It’s basically cutting off the branches of the decision tree that aren’t be applicable. The best way to grow attuned to the pertinent negative is to make it a habit of asking what is not noticed or seen during meetings etc. One way is to ask other people, present them with a problem and ask if there’s anything you might have missed (Studocu.edu). When dealing with a team working on projects, asking simple questions can be a huge time saver and could also free up some creative thinking. Using The Pertinent Negative during the hiring of employees or during performance reviews, engages the employees in the discussion. It’s as simple as asking a closed question, where the answer can only be yes or no, and then following it up with a question as to why the person answered the question that way. This is only when you need to do something with the specific answer (Herman. A, 2 018).

How can we use the broader view of things in improving our relationship with others? Broader views in organizational management are crucial to obtain insight, improve the relationship, and observe what employees are encountering, what they need and want. Being empathetic and tolerant is not only successful in relationship maintaining but also improves productivity. Imagine if you can be comfortable with your bosses and co-workers, you are free to propose ideas, and your seniors invest time on listening and analyzing your proposals. You will feel respect. As a result, you spontaneously work harder and more effectively (Burkus, 2020).

If you were a manager how would you use pertinent negative in understanding employee behaviors and actions? As a manager, The Pertinent Negative can be used to improve our relationships with others, as it enables us to see what is not there. Looking at a person’s behavior when in conversation could tell us a lot versus what they are actually saying. Adjusting the questions or the conversation in such a way that the person’s behavior matches their answers. Given that the concept allows me to notice the things I cannot see, I’m able to notice the specific change in behaviors of different employees. These changes enables me to understand them better which allows me to adjust my strategy to suit their behavior better.

Reflect On Your Current Situation To See How This Concept Can Improve Your Own Attitudes, Perceptions And Behaviors. The concept strongly influences me in observing surroundings and seeing all the factors with abroad view before making the final judgment. As we all know, people see what they want to see, and it is interpreted in the Halo concept; when information is related, it might unawares be distorted by the feeling of realtors. Therefore, I would try to find out what is behind what I hear, what is missing. Keep collecting information and patiently perceive others reactions would give ideas on what they want and need, being insightfully and tolerant.

CONCLUSION In conclusion a Pertinent Negative and broad view is essential to observe people’s behaviors. Seeing things in various scopes and angles slowly and carefully helps us avoid miscomprehending each other and maintaining healthy relationships where all the members can feel respected and self-valued.
