César Abraham Vallejo Mendoza
Cesar Vallejo was a Peruvian poet, one of the great figures of 20th century Latin American poetry. Of mestizo and provincial origin, his family thought of dedicating him to the priesthood: he was the youngest of eleven brothers; this family intention, welcomed by him with illusion in his childhood, explains the presence in his poetry of abundant biblical and liturgical vocabulary. He was born in a small northern highland town called Santiago de Chuco in 1892 in Peru, but died far from his homeland, on Good Friday 1938, in the city of Paris. His parents were Francisco Vallejo and María de los Santos Mendoza. His most important works were. - Considered the maximum representative of avant-gardism in Peru. - Among his most outstanding works are: "Los Heraldos Negros", "Trilce", "Paco Yunque" and "El Tungsteno". - He was imprisoned for some months, unjustly accused of arson and homicide....
