Assume you have completed the necessary coursework in order to qualify for the Abbreviated Application process to obtain the CFLE. Describe in detail the steps you will need to take to obtain the full CFLE certification. Be sure to include what paperwork you will need to submit and any costs necessary. (200 word minimum) To gain full certification you must document sufficient family life education work experience activity. For a family degree you must have 3,200 work experience hours under a bachelors and 1,600 under Masters of Ph.D. For Non-family degrees a person must hale work experience assessment form, and signed copy of CFLE ethics code. When upgrading to full certification you must send your transcript, they don’t have to be official. Along with these requirements there are many applicant FEES. For NCFR members it is $135 for the abbreviated application, $220 for Exam application, $85 for work experience review fee, $75 for annual fees. As for non-member FEES, there is $185 for the abbreviated application, $295 for Exam application, $115 for work experience review fee, and $100 for the annual fee. 2. In your opinion, do you find the CFLE credential useful for your future career aspirations? Why or why not, be thorough. (200-word minimum) In the speech therapy community this certification may be helpful working in the school district, however being medical field focused this certification would only help minimally. The CFLE is educationally based is why it would be beneficial for speech therapist pursuing carrier in the school world. CFLE helps to teach helpers how to best help their patients/ students and their families, so this would be beneficial since everyday we will be needing to catch parents up on students progressed good and bad. This has a focus on teaching mindfulness, reminding us to be emotionally stable for the people we are helping and to deeply focus on what they need to get educationally better. By teaching the education world through CFLE to analyze family settings and functioning they are able to be sure the children are getting their needs in their home environments and are able to best watch for clues that may pertain to these needs not being met. Another huge benefactor to this certification is communication, problem solving and conflict management skills, since in many families that have issues, you may end up in the center of the conflict and have to simmer the situation down for the child’s sake.

I plan to work either in schools or in the medical field as a speech therapist. In my carrier I plan to help counsel individuals with speech and language disorders and their families or caregivers to understand their disorders and to communicate more effectively in educational, social, and vocational settings. I plan to go into graduate level studies for this and family sciences will be a huge part of continuing my helping skills for speech therapy. I will have an undergrad in the bachelor of science and plan to gain my masters in communication disorders shortly after that. I will be working mainly with being a counselor of language and to support the emotional needs to an extent for my patients and their caregivers when they need it to be successful I therapy.

4. How can the CFLE credential help you attain your future career goals? (200 word minimum). My future career goals can be met through this because to be the best therapist for any field you have to know people and figure out how to best support them. I believe that with this certification after my degree plan that this extended knowledge would bring out the personable aspects taught in school and would excel by client’s happiness and needs being met. CFLE is known for preparing its applicants for what can happen in the world of people’s problems especially in the education system, you could have kids whose parents are not concerned for their success and that may cause you to be more of an emotional support worker for that one client versus another. In the CFLE credentials provides family perspective and a broad variety of them, growing up one way can make you bias, so by people learning all family types and being well rounded much of these conflictions will be avoided....
