Contraindications/ Precautions
Medication Administration -adults Tab- 500mg 12hr 60days; IV400mg 12hr 60days; Dosage and rate of administration changes depending on therapeutic use/need
Concurrent use with other quinolones or tizanidine Nursing interventions
Interactions Incompatible with aminophylline, amoxicillin, furosemide, clindamycin and heparin ; no antacids, NSAIDS and phenytoin Food: caffeine= increased caffeination, dairy= delayed absorption
Obtain culture and sensitivity tests before administering.do not give to patients with muscle weakness- do ROM and strength test, look for other options/monitor pts with history of seizures, assess hepatic, hemotologic and renal functions, keep pts hydrated, monitor glucose Client Education
