FICO Xpress Optimization Community License installation instructions A more detailed description can be found on http://www.fico.com/fico-xpress-optimization/docs/latest/installguide/dhtml/ Step 1: Download the Installation packages To install Xpress (Mac OS, Windows 32-bit and 64-bit) and Xpress Insight (Windows 64-bit only), use the installer packages. To install Xpress Insight, make sure you have installed Xpress first. When downloading a new release, make sure that you pick the correct installer for your system. In the download area, select the Xpress software that fits to your system. By clicking the button(s), the download of the corresponding installer package will start. On Windows, this yields the file xpRelease_OS_setup.exe, where Release is the version number and OS the operating system, such as win_x86_64, win32. On Mac OS, the file is called FICO Xpress Release for Mac Installer.dmg. For Windows 64-bit you also download FICO Xpress Insight 4.11.2 (64-bit).exe by pressing on the button “Xpress Insight”. Before installing the new version, please make sure you uninstall any old version of FICO Xpress Optimization (e.g. a previous student version) and delete the old installation folder (e.g. C:\xpressmp). Otherwise, there may be a conflict.

Step 2: Installing Xpress: Workbench, Mosel and Solver (on Windows and Mac OS) Windows only: 1. Run the setup file. Hint: If you are a Symantec user, click “Allow this file to proceed”. 2. Read the License agreement and accept it by clicking “Yes” 3. Select Community License.

4. Enter a destination folder, e.g., C:\xpressmp 5. Deselect the Kalis add-on for Constraint Programming. 6. Accept all the other default settings to complete the installation. Important: If you are prompted to restart your machine, click No. 7. Once the installation is complete, restart your machine. Mac OS only:

1. Run the setup file. Hint: If you are a Symantec user, click “Allow this file to proceed”. 2. Read the License agreement and accept it by clicking “Yes”. 3. Move the FICO Xpress icon into the Applications folder.

4. Optionally, copy the FICO Xpress Examples folder to your preferred location and unzip it. 5. When the installation is complete, unmount the DMG file. Ctrl-click in the Finder window and select Eject "FICO Xpress Installer". You can then delete the DMG file. 6. Launch Xpress Workbench from the Launchpad. 7. Confirm that you want to open Xpress Workbench.

Note: There is a macOS specific bug in recent versions of MySQL (versions 5.3 or newer). It only shows when Mosel users choose to connect to a MySQL data source. A workaround exists and is documented in the release notes. For details see MySQL bug #95608. Step 3: Installing Xpress Insight (only available for Windows 64-bit) Make sure, you have installed Xpress (Step 2) and a compatible Java 64-bit version. If you are a Symantec user, click Allow this file to proceed 2. Select the default installation directory (C:\xpressmp). 3. Select all components on the Custom Setup page. 4. In case prompted, accept the localhost default to enter the hostname/IP address of the FICO Xpress Insight Server.
