Conflict Log

Conflict defined is when two or more people have a disagreement or clash in interest on a certain topic. Perception is so important when it comes to conflict just because there is normally miscommunication, and everyone interprets what another person says differently compared to the person next to them. How one perceives conflict is normally in a negative way and never wants to get involved with talking to people who may have conflicting views on a certain topic. But on the other hand, some people may look at it in a positive light because it helps everyone grow individually and gain more knowledge on certain topics, they did not know at first. Reflecting on my worldview and fully analyzing how each aspect impacts me showed me a whole different understanding when it comes to conflict. “Worldview can be defined as “the cognitive, ethical, and perceptual frames of an individual” (Goldberg 2009, 407).” My worldview impacts each aspect of conflict because of how I grew up and how my family raised me. In the book they talk about worldview and explain the components of it. When it comes to the components of worldview, I feel that how people should act is a big one for me because I believe no matter how differently we grow up we all should have manners and know how to act towards others respectfully. Aspects from my worldview are a huge part of life when it comes to conflict because of how it helps me understand more in-depth on how to respond and act upon certain situations I can be put into.
