The consensus view has been used in the society in law-making and also in criminology. This paper discusses a consensus view in detail across social science perspectives. The conclusion outlines my thoughts regarding the Consensus view. The consensus view from definition implies mutual agreements amongst citizens regarding what should be implemented or what should not be implemented (Baccarini, 2014). Critically thinking on the subject matter, Consensus View is meant to customize laws and figures out what should not be illegal. To arrive at a consensus, all stakeholders need to come together regardless of gender, race, age, and social class in the determination of what should be illegal. The consensus view seems to be a contrast of conflict view or conflict theory. I also think that the Consensus view is an approach meant to bind members of the society because their opinions are the ones that are made as law. There is a sense of commitment and also ownership in consensus view since trust-building is enhanced. The process engages diverse participants; thus, the result is logically rational and favors the majority. It, therefore, sums up to community empowerment through agreements that reflect their thoughts. In conclusion, I subscribe to the consensus view because inclusive involvement empowers all stakeholders generally. More so, commitment is the value that is displayed when people and groups mutually agree. Discussion avails shared comprehension, thus bridging existing and future differences. Better and high-level decisions are also attained as a result of group work.

In 2-3 paragraphs, define and discuss recidivism Recidivism is amongst the most profound concepts present in the discipline of criminal justice (Basinger, 2016). It is a relapse into illegal activities by a person who has undergone a previous crime intervention. Recidivism is significant in consideration of core criminal justice disciplines regarding deterrence alongside rehabilitation. Recidivism also is a reference to being rearrested for former illegality that a criminal was arrested before. Recidivism was first used in France. Their meaning was not used in a criminal context but in health, which meant the reappearance of disease or tumor. Then the legal institutions adopted it to commemorate reappearing of a criminal behavior.
