Why do i write? George Orwell's “Why I Write” really depicts what it's like to have creativity boiling in you and what to do with it. I know what it's like to have my mind set on my future, Orwell knew from age 5 that he wanted to be a writer, i've known i wanted to go into the art field since i was 6. Knowing what you want to be and being a protege in something are very different, unlike being born with a gift you have to work your ass of to get where you want to be, just like Orwell. Orwell practiced and practiced writing poems, lyrics, editing, and other writing techniques and you never really stop learning new things about your passion. His stories reflect who he was reading, what his life was like, how old he was, historic events going on, and his influences which means that his writing would evolve with him. Not only does what's going on at the time influence writers but also your background, time period, your parents, support system, ancestry, or culture. Every little thing in your life influences your passion, backstories are who you are. Orwell writes that there are 4 movies to writing; egoism, aesthetic enthusiasm, historical impulse, and political. The first motive is the egoism, writing to be talked about or to write to prove everyone who doubted you wrong. From what Orwell is aying this is sometimes a very common motive for many politicians, lawyers and scientists which seems very accurate. The second motive is aesthetic enthusiasm which is the perception of beauty in the external world.this seems like what a writer and artists should strive to be, at peace and seeing beauty in their rt. The third and fourth motive are historical and political, historical is to get facts and to

educate people about them. Political is the desire to push the world in a certain direction whether true or not. “The opinion that art should have nothing to do with politics is itself a political attitude” Orwell couldn't say it any better. Political opinions are what a lot of wars are fought over so to alter people's ideas in a certain direction is very important. Whether you have one or all of these motives pushing you if you strive to get your ideas out YOU ARE A WRITER....
