Rationale of the Project

It is observed that some of the students are having a problem on their self – esteem because of a lack of initiative and some of them are also having a hard time understanding many of their lessons in school. Some of them are not interested in the subject matter itself. Hence, they cannot abide in the allotted time of discussion during school hours. They also find it hard coping with the topics being discussed. Thus, to develop their self – esteem we will be conducting a workshop in music and dancing for them to be able to discover more of their self and they will also undergo in a more comprehensive way of learning and approach in learning in subjects like Math, Science and English. XI.

Objectives

The main goal of this project is to help pupils in enhance their knowledge, self – esteem and skills through a comprehensive way of teaching approach. This other goals of this project are:

XII.

To teach and share techniques with the students on how to ace their activities and exams.

To help them discover their talent.

To help them develop their self – esteem.

Description of the Project, Strategies, and Methods / Plan of Action Twenty-seven (27) Mechanical Engineering Students from Batangas State University taking up National Service Training Program will have their workshop project entitled “Revitalizing Hope” in Barangay Dumantay, Batangas City which aims to

motivate the students specifically the Grade 3 and 4 and encourage them to learn more, boost their confidence academically. In order to have a successful outcome of the said project, members of the group will provide different materials that will help them, like visual aids, reviewers, seat works, flash cards and of course notebooks, pencils, an papers for Educational Tutorial, arts material for Arts Workshop and musical instruments for Music Workshop. Our group created a ratio of 1 NSTP student (guide): 2 participants from the said school. With this method, we can ensure progress in learning and easier way of monitoring the students. The said activity is approved and supported by the Superintendent of Batangas City and the teachers and principal of Dumantay Elementary School. The “Revitalizing Hope” project will last for 14 Saturdays in order to achieve our goal. Our main key is to have a step by step process: 1. Information Gathering This process is the most important step because it will help us to know what we can do regarding the said activity. After all the discussion our group had made and after all the data and information had been gathered, we decided to do the workshop at Dumantay Elementary School. We came up with this decision because it is the most accessible community available for our group. 2. Planning This step will ensure the success of our project. Planning is the main part of this step as we planned on how we will run our project, prepared specific topics to teach, exams that will test their ability, home works and activities that will boost their skills and on how to adjust and connect with the different students at our chosen location. 3. Communication and Coordination Cooperating with members, faculty and superintendent is the next process. With the help of the constituent and the consent from the parents of the participants, principal and superintendent, we can easily go to our chosen school and implement our project. 4. Implementation This is the main process. This is the start of the project, “Revitalizing Hope” DATE February 23, 2019
