FCM1 — FCM1 Task 3: Professional Reflection Business Core Capstone: An Integrated Application — D083 PRFA — FCM1 Course: D083 Name Date:11/08/2020 Two important decisions I made in regards to AMBike are that of the prices of my products and to compensate my employees well. One important decision made for AMBike was that of pricing. I took the loss leader pricing method for recreational bicycles. My base prices were still high, but with the rebates I offered, the end price was considerably lower than those of my competitors. I did this to enter the market. Once I made a stance in the market, I priced my products similarly to those of my competitors. An unethical decision I could have made would have been to make all of my prices very low compared to my competitors. They most likely would have not been able to compete with my prices and would have had to move or shut down. I did not have very many other competitors in some cities, and this would have been easy to do, but very, very unethical. That is not a good way to run a business.

Another important decision AMBike made was to compensate our employees well. AMBike stayed in compliance with all labor laws and I tried to compensate my employees well. I also tried to consistently give them better salaries/benefits. This covered all of the employee in all of the stores. Bangalore is an emerging market, and emerging markets can more easily be taken advantage of by companies. I could have hired people to work long hours for little pay. The standard of living in emerging markets is lower than that we are used to here and people have to work harder for what they have. There are also not as many regulations for labor in India. I could have unethically paid employees in India little for a lot of work. Labor is expensive in the United States as we have many skills learned that some other countries are not able to yet. Labor can be less expensive in other countries, but it is unethical to pay them a minimal price just because I can. Employees work hard and deserve to paid well, no matter what country they are in....
