Reflective Practitioner I would consider myself a reflective practitioner because I always think about what I could have done differently in the lesson that would have been better. For example, there was a student who was taking much longer than the rest to finish his classwork. I asked a couple of times if he needed help and he said no, but he continued to struggle with the same problem for the next several minutes before I decided I needed to help him. Afterwards, I realized that I should have helped him sooner – I still should have given him the opportunity to figure it out, but not be stuck in the same spot for so long and get frustrated. I also take constructive criticism well and use it to guide future instruction. On both of the observations I have had so far, I considered what my clinical supervisor said I could improve on and how I could do that. Committed to the Belief that All Students can Learn I would consider myself committed to the belief that all students can learn. Some just take longer than others to learn the same material. When students don’t understand something even after multiple explanations, I keep trying to help them understand in whatever way I can. I use analogies, modeling, and anything else I think might help the student learn it. I don’t give up on them when it takes them a long time to understand because I know there is something that can help them understand and learn the content. Equitable and Fair I consider myself to be equitable and fair because I give students whatever they need in order to be successful i.e. accommodations. If students needs more wait time before answering a question, then I wait longer before moving on to another student. If I need to repeat instructions multiple times, then I will....
