Description

Narrative Report on the School-based Demonstration Teaching of Mrs. Susan Cruzado School-based Demonstration Teaching is an obligatory mandate in school every month. This is to showcase the excellency of teachers in their teaching feld to be seen by the Principal and other teachers as well. The Demonstrator, Mrs. Cruzado was a Teacher II and a grade 2 teacher. Her audiences were the teachers of Grade 2 whom supported her all the way and of course the school's Principal, Dr. Rizalina Millevo. She conducted her Demo-teaching on September 27, 2018, Thursday at AES- TS Cruz Annex. It started exactly 2:00 in the afternoon. It was participated by her grade 2 students, section 10. Nine of her colleagues in the Grade 2 Level watched and supported her at the back. Her subject taught was English with an objective of Classify Common words into conceptual categories. She began her lesson with an energizer. It was a song named "Follow the Rules" were in students actively danced and sing the song. On her drill was the reading of Dolch words and the execution of the One WISH. "Wig" was actually the word in her One WISH. She presented her lesson proper about the "Classifying words into concept categories" by small groupings. She let the students categorize the things to be eaten, things used for schooling, things used for bathing and the things to wear. In this part, students actively participated due to creative instructional materials. In her group activity, she introduced her points system or the rubrics, 5 points is the highest in each strand and 3 is the lowest points in each strand. The group activity went smooth but she forgot to discuss to the class what each group must done in the activity. She forgotten her generalization. During her evaluation, she initially gave each pupil her evaluation in a ½ piece of paper for the pupils to simply answer the quiz. Her Mean Percentage Score (MPS) of her evaluation was 82%. In the end of her demo was the assignment. She fnally done her demonstration teaching with a clear understanding to the students. There was a Post-Conference happened right after her demonstration teaching with Dr. Millevo, together with the grade 2 teachers. Comments were laid like how she frst presented her lesson from the very start. It's good that she sets standards in the group activity but the directions or the instructions of the activity to be done are not...
