EDITING YOUR AUDIO FILE STEP 1: Convert your audio file (M4A) to WAV for use on AUDACITY. a. Share your audio file to your email drive. b. Download the audio file in M4A form. c. Convert M4A file to WAV free using https://www.zamzar.com/convert/m4a-to-wav/ d. Download WAV file and open in Audacity Or a. Share your audio file to your email drive. b. Download the audio file in M4A form. c. Open AUDACITY and ‘open file’ from your downloads d. AUDACITY will automatically save the file as a WAV file or will export it as a WAV

STEP 2: Use AUDACITY to edit your audio file. Please see attached document for guidance on how to use AUDACITY For further direction on the use of AUDACITY, check out the following blog: https://www.buzzsprout.com/learn/audacity-tutorial NOTE: You are welcome to use other software to edit your podcast, however, support may not be available for other software. Please come to class prepared to use the time effectively to edit your podcast. WARNING: When you are working with an audio file on audacity, or need to close it, and continue to work on it later, go to “Save Project as..”. You’ll find that you have two files : [Project Name].aup and [Project Name]_data (folder). [Project Name]_data is a folder with all the data for the .aup file. This saves the layers of audio files for your podcast. [Project Name].aup runs the _data folder. Without the _data folder, it can not run. NOTICE : Make sure you have both the .aup file and the _data folder (as you need both for the audacity file to run with your work) backed up to the Student H: drive or a Google Drive. FINISHED? Go to “Export as…” and select MP3 format. If you save it, it will render the file inaccessible to view. The .aup file is the project work file, not the finished product. Make sure not to select “Export Selected Audio”, as that would exclude a part of the audio or possibly next to all of the audio....
