[Last Name] 1 English 111 03/08/2016 Good Killings “Darkly Dreaming Dexter” is a novel by Jeff Lindsay. A serial killer named Dexter Morgan who is also blood analysis that works at the Metro-Dade police department. Dexter had a foster father named Harry Morgan, he was a cop. When he saw what Dexter was becoming into, Harry taught ways he can kill bad people without getting caught. Dexter targets only serial-killers and child molesters. He also had a sister named Deborah Morgan. She asks Dexter for help with a murder case so she can get a promotion. Rita is Dexter girlfriend she is survivor of domestic violence and is not interested in sex. Which fits perfect with Dexter qualification since he does not engage in sex. A case lead to a refrigerator truck who kills his victims and have them bloodless. Dexter gets very interested in the case, and wants to find this refrigerator truck killer and find out how he does it. 

The “moon” here symbolizes the light is reflected to see the road a head, making it seem a good night for killing, the “moon” seem liked it was happy and a way to tell Dexter it was a good moral decision. It showed

Which makes him happy as the moon is so white, he can see that he is doing a justifiable thing. o The oxford definition of the word “moon” says “The bright and dark features that outline the face of the “the man in the moon”” 

He felt special pride or respect in that “glorious time”. o As we see in oxford dictionary, that the word “glorious” refers to a thing that is beautiful or distinctive; a special cause for pride, respect, or delight.

Kindle Edition. o The word “red” in this text symbolizes blood, the red floors are symbol of love but also blood, which describes being surrounded by fountain, which we can also say that there is a low of red dark blood. Also it can mean the romance between Dexter and Rita. Also it can mean symbol of danger or a signal to stop of what he has become, red is dark and bright, like the moon white and bright. Which can mean the red symbolize a point of stopping, or being closely to danger of getting caught. In conclusion to the novel, Deborah and Dexter investigates a case in a rink which displays bodies on ice, Deborah finds a footage of of the parking lot which shows someone looks like Dexter Deborah gives Dexter few hours to figure out what is going on, Dexter finally figures out who is the Refrigerator truck driver, who turns out to be his own brother by blood....
