Conclusion

the fertility should increase from now until 2070 An increasing trend is observed as the life expectancy has constantly increased every year thanks to the constant medical improvements as well as life quality A problematic arises making the people aged 65 or above highly reliable and dependent on those aging 15 to 64. The macroeconomic effect of population ageing in the European Union includes what has to do with labor supply, unemployment, and GDP. Labor supply will decline thanks to the projected decrease of the working-age population previously shown. As labor supply decreases, employment rates should raise.

In the EU as a whole, the average annual GDP growth rate is projected to remain quite stable over the long-term” Generalyl, public spending will increase for retirement expenses but this will vary depending on countries. Public health care will increase Unemployment benefit expense is projected to decrease.

Each member country should find its own way to solve the ageing problematic either by acquiring more friendly immigration policies, or by performing incentives to increase birth rates. Some industries have lost market share and reduced income brought to the EU. A reason could be the excessive spending in agriculture and not investing as much in innovation....
