2. Choose three species (terrestrial or aquatic) that are currently endangered, the regions of the world where they are and describe their habitat as well. (Note: do not include living beings already studied in earlier evidence). Mandrill: Gabon, Equatorial Guinea, Congo and Cameroon are the African countries that serve as the mandrel's natural distribution regions. It inhabits the evergreen rain forests of the west of the continent, from the Sanaga river to the Congo river in the south, and to the Ogooué river in the east. Other habitats where it is found are secondary forests, subtropical forests, riverside forests, flooded forests, forests close to savannahs, and thick thickets both on plateaus and in mountainous terrain. Many baboons thrive in cultivated areas that surround farms.

Polar Bear: You will find that the polar bear lives in the coldest areas of the world. They live in the Arctic, where

temperatures are low, water is cold, and they are able to move through thick ice sheets. They survive in very isolated and remote places where humans are rarely found except small colonies and native tribes in these areas.

Western lowland gorilla: Gorillas live mainly in the tropical forests of Africa, which are characterized by a small temperature variation, generally around 23 ° C, and a duration of daylight close to 12 hours. The lowlands of tropical forests generally have a prolonged dry season and the vegetation that develops there consists of thorny shrubs, trees and succulent plants, which are capable of storing water in their cells. 3.Identify which actions performed by humans in recent years have led to the extinction of the three species that you chose (at least one action for each species), and analyze the difference between this kind of extinction, to the one that has happened during the ancient times through natural selection. The mandrel is found in the forests where during the last years the fires have been much more frequent, it is one of the reasons why these animals have lost life. The polar bear, due to its habitat in cold areas, has been in danger of extinction due to global warming, to the human responsibility for taking care of the planet and keeping the frozen waters in their state. Like the mandrill, the gorilla's habitat is affected by fires, cutting down trees, among other things. 4.Explain in detail how the disappearance of each of the species that you have chosen is actually impacting or might impact other living beings and the environment.

These species are in danger of extinction since human beings, when carrying out actions for our good, do not think about how harmful it is for animals living in those habitats that we damage. We continue to damage their habitat and do nothing to repair it or make it better so that it can last for many more years. This will continue to occur with other species that are currently in abundance, but over time they will begin to disappear due to the same thing. 5.Write down proposals (one for each species) to prevent the extinction of the species that you have chosen and explain the importance of such activities for human beings to become aware of the risk that we find by altering the biological processes.  Avoid deforestation of forests (Mandrill): since if we continue deforesting their natural habitat and causing fires, this species will have nowhere to live and no way to survive, so unconsciously we will be killing them.  Reduce fossil fuels (Polar Bear): As ecological organizations such as Greenpeace explain, reducing the consumption of fossil fuels is one of the best solutions for melting poles and glaciers. According to the scientists' calculations, if we were to stop dependence on fuels such as oil, the increase in the planet's temperature would remain below 2ºC.  Plant a tree (Gorilla): They act against global warming since they absorb CO2, gas with greenhouse properties, but also provide other important environmental services: they provide food and shelter for the animals that live in these habitats, recover part of the original landscape, etc. 6.Write a conclusion of the work, where you can talk about the achieved learning and the purpose of it.

The research on this activity made me think that there are too many endangered species and made me understand the true meaning of this and that they are species that we have today but future generations will see them as something that no longer exists. Through this activity I have reinforced the information from the previous activity on the geological eras of the earth, the evolution and species that existed in those times and on the importance of caring for the environment of animals as well as ours....
