The growth of the region forces the growth of the growth center to continue to expand to its surrounding areas. The need for land for economic and industrial activities makes the suburbs a target of development. Settlements as well as industrial areas were built on a large scale. The factor of land conversion is not only caused by the opening of land for the economy and industry, but also because of the rapid population growth. The increasingly crowded city center and the reduced comfort level keeps the concentration of people and activities shifting towards the suburbs. In general, the area of agricultural land in the city of Malang, especially in the edge area is reduced due to the needs of residential land and industry increases. Agricultural areas in the city of Malang many of which converted to non-agricultural land. The pace of land conversion in Malang if no control is given, will have more negative impacts than the positive impacts.
