Description

Fame Nightclub is an LGBTQ night club situated on 110 Market Avenue downtown Winnipeg Manitoba. The centralized location of bar makes it appealing to people from every area of the city allowing it to perform and meet company expectations. Fame is home to some of the best live entertainment available around the city and attracts a large crowd each night of operation. It is open to the public but restricts its establishment to individuals over the age of 18, due to the selling and consumption of alcohol in the building. As stated earlier, Fame is an LGBTQ bar meaning that the target audience of the company is the LGBTQ community. Although the LGBTQ community are the main targeted customers, anyone may enter the building if they choose to do so. All in all, Fame targets anybody, no matter their sexuality and allows anybody who wants to order drinks, enjoy the live entertainment, socialize with friends as well as meet new people in a LGBTQ friendly environment. As you are likely to infer, Fame Nightclub is apart of the highly competitive Nightclub/Bar industry due to the high volume of competitors across the city. Being a Nightclub and not offering any inside products and services won’t bring any customers alone, so what goes on inside the doors of Fame Nightclub that drives the business. Firstly, the sale of beer and liquor is one of the major ways the company brings in revenue as well as customers towards the business. On average 7$ a drink the company is profiting heavily, making up to $5 for every drink poured and sold. With that margin of sale, it allows the company to fully maximize their profits every single weekend. Selling alcohol in a public setting, especially a nightclub, where attendees are more likely than not, there to have a few drinks and have a good time is displaying the company’s ability to take advantage of a business opportunity. The public has made it clear that beer and liquor is a demand by the customers, therefore Fame is capitalizing on this opportunity and fulfilling the need of alcohol in a public setting to earn profits towards the company as well as create a bond between the customers and the company itself. The second way Fame gets customers through their front doors is by promoting and hosting special events. Whether it be a magician, a drag-show, comedian, DJ, or live singer, Fame is consistent in switching up, and bringing in new forms of live entertainment every weekend to continue to bring new and returning customers through the front doors. Not only do these special events and themed parties bring in a large attendance but these parties each have a fixed cost at the door (also known as entry fees). These entry fees vary from night to night depending on projected attendance and profitability, for example on Halloween 2021, the event was titled “Repossessed” and tickets were $10, whereas tickets for the Christmas show/event are listed as $5. This demonstrates that Fame is using marketing tactics with their fixed entry fees to maximize total profits for the company. The final attribute used by Fame to get people through the door and create a positive customer satisfaction rate is by establishing itself as an LGBTQ bar. By doing so it has allowed and acts as a safe spot for people of the LGBTQ community. When interviewing the manager of Fame, he described Fame as a “judgement-free zone” and went on to further express that, inappropriate actions towards the LGBTQ community are taken very seriously and come along with strict punishments. From this interview we can conclude that although Fame highly values chasing profits, it is also evident that they treat the bar as a community and act as a safe

environment for members of the LGBTQ where they might not be treated equally somewhere else....
