Description

Evaluate the reasons for the United States Victory in the American Revolutionary War.

The American Revolutionary War was fought on behalf of the different freedoms and liberties the Americans had desired but the British were not easily willing to give. Since the Americans were very eager to experience this freedom, they were willing to fight for it, even though they were severely outnumbered and underpowered when it came to their military and supplies although this did not stop them from winning the war. Even though the Americans were at a severe disadvantage in the war, they were able to win it because of the patriotic mentality that the citizens had and their advantage of knowing the land.

One of the main reasons that the Americans won was because of their morale. An example of this is the Battle of Lexington and Concord. Though the British had a lot more power, this battle led the Americans to actually fight for what they believed in, even though there would be many lives taken and many prices to be paid. This battle boosted the morale of the citizens and united the patriots who viewed the British as tyrannical and since they actually had a true cause to fight for, this motivated them to fight until the end even though they were outnumbered. The motivation that the Americans had to win this war is something that the British lacked and even though the Americans didn’t win many of the battles and skirmishes, they were easily more motivated and swiftly escaped whenever a loss was imminent. With their rage and patriotism in their heart, they were ready to take on whatever challenge was present and they would not give up

Another reason that the Americans won was because of their knowledge of the land and using tactics that would use the land. An example of this is how Washington used guerilla tactics and ambushes in order to deal severe damage to the British. Since the British had no idea about the land, they were virtually clueless and the Americans could use this to their advantage by getting into strategic positions with the power to inflict lots of harm onto the British while at the same time taking minimal damage. With their military tactics, they were able to form a formidable force that would take a lot to deal with, and ultimately Britain realized that these tactics were too much for them and they were virtually unbeatable.

Because of these reasons, the British just decided to give up and give the Americans what they truly desired: freedom. Even though the British had military superiority and authority over America, the Americans were still able to beat them because of their patriotic mentality and morale as well as knowledge of the land....
