HR Planning Supply Forecasting - Movement Analysis Technique Halton District School Board Example (With Growth) The Halton District School Board.serves approximately 51,000 public and secondary school students in the municipalities of Burlington, Halton Hips, Milton and Oak.ville in southern Ontario. As of September 2017, the Board runs classes in 96 elementary schools and has 4427 FTE positions directly related to the operation of the elementary schools: • • • • • •

1 Director position 10 Superintendent positions 91 Principal positions 81 Vice Principal positions 3133 Teacher positions 1112_ Support and Non-Teaching positions

All of the positions are currently filled. Teachers, Vice Principals, Principals, Superintendents and the Director positions all require certification from the Ontario College of Teachers. Staff employed in Support & Non Teaching positions are not eligible to apply for Teacher, VP, Principal, Superintendent or Director vacancies. The HDSB has a strong promote from within policy for these positions and recruits exclusively from within the current staff to fill vacancies above the Teacherlevel. Vacancies at the Teacher level are filled from outside the Board. Over the past five years, normal losses have averaged 9% for the Board. The HDSB is planning to open four new elementary schools in September, 2018 (for the 2018-2019 school year).
