There are three models of service delivery: medical, human services, and public health The medical model of service delivery focuses on a patient and sees the individual as sick or ill. These individuals depend on a provider to help treat their illness. The human services model is to provide services that help clients with any problems they may be having such as homeliness. The public health model focuses on the causes of problems (mainly diseases) and ways to prevent them in society such as HIV/AIDS. The main similarity is that each model helps individuals with some sort or issue. There are a few. differences between the models, the medical model was the first model and was adapted in the 1930s. The human services and the public health focus on the individual, society, the community, and prevention whereas the medical model focuses on diagnosing diseases and more so focusing on the individual....
