General Psychology assignment for IAT activity taking a test and describing results....

Description

Implicit Association Test Directions: At the following website https://implicit.harvard.edu/implicit/demo/selectatest.html, you will find implicit association tests (IATs) for a variety of topics. Select one topic for which you think you DO NOT HAVE a prejudice (e.g., age), as well as one topic for which you think you MIGHT HAVE a prejudice (e.g., gender in science). Take both tests and answer the questions below. Each test should take around 5 - 10 minutes. (**Look at the “Social Attitudes” box and then continue as a guest. This is right next to the U.S. flag.**) TEST ONE

TEST TWO

Which test did you take?

Which test did you take?

I took the age test.

I took the gender-career test.

What were your results? Did you prefer one group over the other?

What were your results? Did you prefer one group over the other?

The test says that I prefer young people over old people.

The results I got say that I associate males with career and female with family.

Were these results what you expected? Why or why not?

Were these results what you expected? Why or why not?

This is not what I expected as I usually get along better with older people then people my age.

I am iffy about it because on hand my family both of my parents work, but some other close families to me the mom stays at home with the family, cooks, cleans, etc. while the husband goes to work.
