EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

Dato’ Rizalman bin Ibrahim, someone who is absolutely talented person when it comes to fashion. From humble beginnings in his hometown of Penang, to the bustling bosom of Kuala Lumpur, Dato’ Rizalman Ibrahim has come a long way, with a total of five companies under his moniker, dabbling in bridal design, couture design, interior design, as well as bespoke and ready-to-wear designs. He’s someone who really inspire others entrepreneur to be successful such as him. As I prepared this case study, I have researched all about his successful achievement to bring his own brand to the international level. This case study focused about his famous product that he produced which is “Rizalman” itself. He used his real name for his brand name. “Rizalman” product is consist of fashionable product such as ready made clothes, fashion accesories, and more. His company has created the top quality of product that can attract people to buy it. Next, on this assignment also has their mission and vision about their business about what they want in their business. It is important to know the target in a business. There is also their marketing target about what they want to achieve. In addition, this report also consisted of his profile as a entrepreneur and his characteristics on how he can be a successful entrepreneur.

INTRODUCTION BUSINESS PROFILE

Rizalman Ibrahim Couture SDN. BHD is a company that providing fashion design, event staging, selling ready made clothes, fashion accessories and undertaking corporate uniform projects. Rizalman Ibrahim Couture SDN BHD is founded by famous and talented fashion designer which is Dato’ Rizalman Ibrahim. His boutique is located at Jalan Imbi, No. 24A, Jalan Walter Granier, 55100 Kuala Lumpur. Rizalman Ibrahim Couture SDN BHD once had entered for Swarovski's Sparkling Couture Infinity Exhibition on 25 October 2017 at Madinat Arena, Dubai. Dato’ Rizalman Ibrahim himself can’t attended the event and send his business partner which is Faizul Surani and his team for succeeding the exhibition. Rizalman Ibrahim Couture SDN BHD has created many top quality product such as baju melayu, baju kurung from Rizalman Collections. Addition of that, he has sold luxury wedding dress, fashion accessories, interior design as well as wedding planner.

MISSION AND VISION OF THE BUSINESS

The brand itself which is “Rizalman” has become international level of popular. The mission and vision of the company is to be a couture designing company that sells the finest quality of product whether it’s from online shopping neither offline shopping. Dato’ Rizalman has said that he has the same mission with the late Lagerfeid which is also a famous fashion designer. His mission is shoulder the responsibility of elevating the dignity of fashion as a professional field. The vision of this company is that, the brand itself which is “Rizalman” can be established for a long time in this fashion industry. Eventhough Dato’ himself has retired from fashion industry, he wanted the next generation to continue his legacy in fashion industry.

MARKETING STRATEGY First, their price range of the product is on higher price range, so the target market of the company is for the upper level client or known as customer. Most of their client are from famous artist. They mostly want to buy Rizalman product for special occasion or event, whether it’s a birthday party, big event, or anything else. Some of the big artist that has be Rizalman’s client are Dato’ Siti Nurhaliza, Anuar Zain, and much more. Dato’ Rizalman is being detailed in every dress and outfits that his client booked whether on their preferences, measurement and some detail that his client wanted to add in on the outfits. In addition, every design that his clients requested, he will make sure the design is not the same from the previous clients. This shown that each of the design that Rizalman produce has their own uniqueness to it. Any product of “Rizalman” is limited because his product are sold at his own boutique which is at Rizalman Ibrahim Couture. Other than that, he just started to sell his product on online website, which is ZALORA. Rizalman promote his product from his client artist that wear “Rizalman” on big event that will get a huge engagement from the media. For example, Rizalman design a dress for Neelofa, Ayda Jebat, Awal Ashaari and Hael Husaini. In addition, He also got a award winning as a Best Fashion Designer for Celebrity.

Rizalman Ibrahim Couture SDN BHD is a sole proprietorship that owned and run by Dato’ Rizalman Ibrahim. He has a few workers that work at their own part such as cutting, sewing, and measuring. He has his own assistant which is his own best friend that has been already worked together since Dato’ started his own fashion business.

Dato’ Rizalman Ibrahim has a characteristics of creative and innovative from his fashion’s instinct and fashion style. He has created many types of dress, outfits, fashion accessories and much more. Besides that, he one of the graduate of bachelor’s degree of Arts and Design (fashion design), and I think this is one of the factors that how he get this creative and innovative characteristics.



Passionate

Dato’ Rizalman Ibrahim has a big passion towards fashion world. He said that one of his inspiration to become a successful fashion designer is to become like Karl Lagerfield which is also a famous fashion designer. On his studies at UiTM, he even got recognized as the Best Student in the Faculty of Studies in the Study of Art and Design. You can see how much passion he has when it comes to fashion. Passion is what drives entrepreneurs. They usually love what they do, and this helps them invest their time in their projects.



Leadership

He is the owner of his own company of course he has this kind of characteristics. Probably the most difficult task to do is to persuade others to follow your lead. But I think he does a really good job of it, by leading his team of workers to commit every single thing for the success of the company itself. He has said in one of his interviews that “A great man, comes with a great people behind him”. So we can see, that he appreciate on his workers.

As you all know, Dato’ Rizalman has much knowledge about fashion and his fashion sense always follow with the trends nowadays. So when it comes to client or customer who books an outfits with his criteria and want it to look trending nowadays, Dato’ Rizalman will not have any problem to prepare the outfit for his clients.



Hardworking

Dato’ Rizalman was not born in a wealthy family. In his studies days, he always has to earn money himself for his own university’s fee and cost of living. His own road to become one of the finest fashion designer and entrepreneur was not that easy. Rizalman also has high quality taste for pretty things but can’t afford it at that time. His first job in fashion field was a tailor and his salary was only RM350. With a small amount of salary, eating instant noodles everytime was not a strange thing for him. But as he work hard ever single day to be a successful fashion designer, he finally has his own company and his own brand. This shown us that, it is only hard work that will bring you more and more opportunities to showcase your talents and skills to the world. With hard work as your hallmark feature, you will be better positioned to increase your opportunities.



Vision

Dato’ Rizalman Ibrahim has his own vision for his company’s future. He want to expand his brand which is “Rizalman” to the international level. Not only does it keep entrepreneurs energized, but it allows them to motivate others. Dato’ Rizalman has accomplished his vision when his company being invited for Swarovski's Sparkling Couture Infinity Exhibition and becoming first representative for Malaysia to enter the event.
