The nurse will place a precautions sign outside of the room along with making available any equipment needed prior to entering the room. Perform hand hygiene prior to entering the isolation room and don PPE in the correct order. Remove gown and gloves in the correct order. Perform hand hygiene afterwards. Do not remove anything from the room once it is brought in.

Who: Any staff entering the isolation precautions room will perform hand hygiene prior to/after contact and properly don/doff isolation equipment. when: Prior to entering the room to provide care/assistance. Why: This will prevent contamination or infection to other clients or staff outside of the isolation room. How: The use of PPE will prevent direct contact of possible bacteria. This will reduce the risk of transmission.
