Criminal Psychology 1-2, Journal Topic Selection

Topic Selection I also wondered what makes psychopaths, sociopaths, serial killers/murderers are intriguing to study and what makes them do what they do, what is inside their mind that is scary but also beautiful to investigate. Their intention is creepy because they are unpredictable people. I always wanted to know the thought process behind their crimes and motives. How they are choose their victims, what their childhood was like growing up. I want to learn why these "monsters" (as many in society refer to them) enjoy killing, what could possibly finally pushed them over the edge to commit these horrendous crimes. I always be intrigued to figure out what was going through their minds as they committed these murders. Crime Type Frank Timmons is a serial murder. Reading the article, Frank committed several crimes that include robberies, sexual assaults, and eight additional murders. His target and victims were all women. His victims were as young as twelve years old that was sexually assaulted by him, and the deaths were brutal with the victims often being shot in the head. When Timmons murdered, victims were taken from a public location that usually follows by them being taken to a private site that was typically nearby and was shot in the head.

Motivational Factor One of Frank current coworker has spoken about Frank, and his girlfriend had many fights, to the point where they were seeking marriage counselor and taking a separate vacation to get away from one another. This could be a trigger for him because of the relationship he has with his girlfriend, maybe that why his victims are women.
