Communication skills are the most important skills for effective learning. It is important to communicate effectively with others because it gives us a better understanding not just for the things that we do not understand but also gives us knowledge to learn one another. It provides information to help us to understand better to make our academic career path successful. It enables us to communicate in such a good manner where we can build a positive relationship. Effective communication helps the students in their academic career in many ways. “Effective communication skills are able to express ideas, share solutions, and build trust among a diverse group in order to create change and produce positive results.” (Grand Canyon University, 2019) It is also a helpful skill to gather information and will benefited to most of the students including myself. For example, the student is struggling in the class, he or she can communicate the professor or classmates by asking questions and ask for further explanations either to send an email or to speak by phone. They can also do a group study to explain the task more effectively. It is also important to be more respectful and use appropriate words when we do communicate our peers or our professor. It helps maintain good relationship to one another. GCU emphasizes quality discussion posts and proper etiquette in the Discussion Forums to helps students communicate effectively. It enables students to exchange ideas, provide information and learn from each other. It promotes good communication skills which is the most vital to students for a successful career path. I can say learning is fun in GCU.
