Ideas for Prototype Design ** All designs were drawn digitally Option A: Advantages: The paper parachute will slow down the fall of the egg The paper at the bottom will hold the egg The straws will connect the parachute to the bottom and provide a more stable structure versus string. Disadvantages: If it falls too quickly the egg will not have a cushion. The straws connected to the paper might rip

Option B: Advantages: The straws will hold the egg in the air The paper box structure will take most of the impact versus the egg Disadvantages: A paper box might not hold very well

Explain your reasoning for selecting this design. I am moving forward with design A because it seems like it has the most advantages, and potential to improve. I will improve it by adding a paper/ string cushion at the bottom of the prototype to make the impact smaller. Why would this change be an improvement? What impulse or momentum principle is this improvement based on? This will improve it because the paper cushion will allow the egg to take less of the fall impact.
